Club Weekly Notes 17th Jan 2022

Yes

Munster Junior Football Championship:

Our run in the Munster Junior Football championship came to an abrupt end on Saturday last 15th Jan in Mallow against Kerry Champions Gneeveguilla. We opened the scoring with a point, but then a very good Gneeveguilla side took over. It was 2-9 to 1-4 at half-time and after a low scoring 3rd Quarter, Gneeveguilla tagged on the scores to run out deserving winners 4-18 to 1-6.

Well done to a very good Gneeveguilla side & best wishes in the All-Ireland series.

Well done to all involved in the Ballina Squad this year. Saturday didn't go to plan, but we must remember the great performances all year. Well done to the management of Kevin Byrne (Manager), Tome Meskell & Martin Neary, David Tighe (First Aid) and the entire panel - led be captain Steven O'Brien.

In 2022 we can look forward again to Intermediate Football & Junior "B" Football.

Full report in the paper.

Thank you for the support:

We had great support in Mallow on Saturday & we appreciate all those who travelled on Saturday. The club's facebook & twitter pages received many messages of support from within the club/parish. There are many amazing photo's and video's on the facebook showing plenty of colour & support. We also appreciate the many messages of support received across North Tipp, Tipperary & East Clare amongst other places.

Club Website/Social Media:

Our club website www.ballina.tipperary.gaa.ie continues to be very active with regular updates. Visit http://www.ballina.tipperary.gaa.ie/Pages/ClubResults.aspx to look at some old results. If you have any old photos or news reports around this, please forward them to secretary.ballina.tipperary@gaa.ie

#ClubScoreboard=ClubEircode:

Following the recent incident at The Ragg, we are encouraging every club to display their Eircode on their scoreboard. If we need to call an ambulance or any emergency service, we will be asked for this. Everyone looks for/at the scoreboard during a game & if we can use this universal landmark as a place to display our eircode, everyone will know where to look during an emergency.
